CUET Photo & Signature Size at a Glance

NTA's 2026 bulletin specifies the file-size and format limits below. It does not specify a fixed pixel dimension for the scanned photograph, so avoid treating a third-party pixel preset as an official NTA requirement.

For this tool, 200 × 230 px can be used as a practical passport-photo preparation preset when your source image and application workflow call for it. Always follow the current NTA instructions if your specific application shows a different requirement.

Get Your CUET Photo Ready

Your uploaded photograph should be clear and easy to verify. Before resizing, start with a good original rather than repeatedly compressing an already-small image. Keep these points in mind:

• Use a recent colour passport-size photograph.
• Keep the background white or light-coloured.
• Make around 80% of the face visible.
• Both ears should be visible.
• Do not cover the face with a mask.
• Make sure the photograph is clear and properly exposed.
• Upload your own photograph.
• Save the final image as JPG/JPEG.
• Keep the file between 10 KB and 200 KB.

What About 200 × 230 Pixels?

You may see 200 × 230 px listed on many CUET photo-resizing websites. It is a useful preparation preset, but the current NTA 2026 bulletin does not state that pixel dimension as an official requirement. The bulletin specifies the passport-size photo, JPG/JPEG format and 10–200 KB file-size range.

This distinction matters because a random pixel number copied from another examination should not be presented as an official NTA specification.

CUET Signature Requirements

The signature is uploaded separately from your photograph. For CUET UG 2026:

• File size: 10–50 KB
• Format: JPG/JPEG
• Quality: Clearly legible
• Type: Handwritten signature
• Paper: Plain white paper is recommended for a clean scan
• Avoid excessive blank space around the signature.
• Keep the handwriting readable after compression.

CUET Live Photograph Is a Separate Step

Preparing your scanned photograph does not replace the live-photo step.

During the CUET application, NTA requires candidates to capture a live photograph using the device camera or webcam. If the device does not have a webcam, NTA provides a QR-code option that can be used with a mobile device or tablet.

Before starting the live capture:

• Check that your camera or webcam works.
• Allow camera permission in the browser.
• Sit directly in front of the camera.
• Use proper lighting.
• Keep a light-coloured background.
• Keep about 80% of your face visible, including both ears.
• Do not cover your face with a mask.

Remember: the uploaded scanned photograph and the live photograph are two different parts of the application.

Other Documents You May Need

Photo and signature are not the only files that may be requested during CUET application.

Keep the original documents available as well, because uploaded files should belong to the candidate and be provided in the required format. Common CUET Upload Problems

One CUET Application, Multiple University Choices

CUET is different from an application made for a single university. Candidates can use their CUET application and score for participating universities and programmes they select.

That makes getting the basic application files right especially useful. Prepare the photograph and signature once, check them carefully, and then use the correct files throughout the application instead of repeatedly editing or replacing them.

This is also why keeping the final submitted application and confirmation page is useful after registration.

Use this short final check:

• Photograph is JPG/JPEG.
• Photograph is between 10 KB and 200 KB.
• Face and both ears are clearly visible.
• Background is white or light-coloured.
• Signature is JPG/JPEG and within the 10–50 KB range.
• Required certificates are ready in the correct format.
• Live photograph can be captured successfully.
• Correct files are shown in the application preview.
• Application details have been reviewed.
• Confirmation page is saved after successful submission.
