RBI Assistant Photo & Signature Resizer
RBI Assistant applications require separate uploads for your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration. Each has its own size and dimension requirements, so preparing all four before you start the form makes the upload step faster. Recent RBI Assistant instructions also include a live photo capture step inside the application portal — separate from the photograph file you prepare and upload.

RBI Assistant Photo Resizer
RBI Assistant recruitment isn't open year-round — check the current RBI recruitment notice for the active application window. The specifications below follow recent RBI Assistant application instructions; confirm against your current notification before uploading, since these have changed between cycles before.
RBI Assistant Upload Requirements
RBI Assistant asks for four documents, each with its own pixel and file-size range:
| Document | Dimensions | File Size | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 200 × 230 px (preferred) | 20 KB – 50 KB | JPG / JPEG | Recent passport-style photo, light or white background, no caps or dark glasses |
| Signature | 140 × 60 px (preferred) | 10 KB – 20 KB | JPG / JPEG | Black ink on white paper, not in capital letters |
| Left Thumb Impression | 240 × 240 px (preferred, 200 DPI) | 20 KB – 50 KB | JPG / JPEG | Black or blue ink on plain white paper, properly scanned and not smudged |
| Handwritten Declaration | 800 × 400 px (preferred, 200 DPI) | 50 KB – 100 KB | JPG / JPEG | English, white paper, black ink, own handwriting, not in capital letters — exact wording is in the notification |
Important
These figures are based on recent RBI Assistant application instructions, and match the pattern used across several other RBI recruitment notifications too. Upload requirements can still change with a new notification, so check your current application instructions before submitting your files.
Live Photo Capture During the Application
RBI Assistant includes a live photo capture in addition to the uploaded photograph. After uploading your prepared photo, the portal asks you to either use your webcam or scan a QR code with your phone for a real-time picture. Keep a plain, well-lit background ready for this step.
This is separate from the photograph file you prepare for upload. Follow the live-capture instructions shown inside the portal when you reach that step.
Prepare Each File Separately
- Use a recent colour photograph with a light, preferably white background. Avoid caps and dark glasses unless permitted under the current instructions.
- Sign on plain white paper with black ink. Signatures written in capital letters are not accepted.
- For the thumb impression, use a light, even press, and redo it if it looks smudged. Our thumb impression resizer handles that one document on its own if that's all you need.
- Write the declaration exactly as worded in your notification — don't paraphrase, and keep it in English unless told otherwise.
- Scan or photograph each document on its own rather than cropping several from one combined scan.
How to Resize Your RBI Assistant Documents
- 1
Upload each document
Photo, signature, thumb impression, and declaration, one at a time.
- 2
Pick the matching preset
Each document has its own pixel and KB target.
- 3
Crop and compress
Bring the file into range without losing legibility, especially for the thumb impression and declaration.
- 4
Download all four
Keep them ready before you open the actual RBI Assistant application — the live photo step happens separately, inside the portal.
If a file lands above its ceiling, run it through our image compressor, then confirm each one with the signature size checker before you upload.
Common Upload Problems
| Problem | Cause |
|---|---|
| Photo or signature rejected | Outside the KB range, wrong pixel dimensions, or not JPG/JPEG — check all three against your current application instructions |
| Thumb impression looks smudged | Too much ink or pressure — a lighter, single press scans cleaner |
| Declaration doesn't match the required wording | The handwritten declaration must follow the wording given in the current notification — recheck the text before scanning it |
| Live photo step won't complete | Check camera permissions, lighting, and the instructions shown on the capture screen |

RBI Assistant vs RBI Grade B Upload Files
RBI Assistant is a clerical-grade post open to graduates from any stream. RBI Grade B is officer-level, with more competitive, specialization-based selection. They're separate notifications with separate eligibility and timelines. The upload specs for photo, signature, thumb impression, and declaration are currently very similar across both — but confirm your current notification before reusing a file, and prepare a fresh set with our RBI Grade B photo & signature resizer if you're applying to that exam too.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size should my RBI Assistant photo and signature be?
Photo: 200×230 px, 20–50 KB. Signature: 140×60 px, 10–20 KB. Both in JPG/JPEG.
Are RBI Assistant and RBI Grade B upload specs really the same?
Recent instructions for both use very similar dimensions and file-size ranges. They're still separate notifications, so confirm current requirements before reusing a file across the two — our RBI Grade B photo & signature resizer has that exam's own presets ready.
Is the live photo capture the same as the photo upload?
No. The uploaded photo is a prepared file; the live capture happens in the portal, using your webcam or phone, at the time of applying.
What size is the RBI Assistant left thumb impression and declaration?
Thumb impression: 240×240 px, 20–50 KB. Declaration: 800×400 px, 50–100 KB. Check your current notification since exact figures can shift.
Is this tool free?
