SSC MTS Live Photo: What Applicants Need to Know

The SSC application process uses live photo capture rather than requiring you to prepare an old passport-size photograph for this step.

When the application asks you to capture your photograph:

• Choose a place with good lighting.
• Use a plain background.
• Keep the camera at eye level.
• Face the camera directly.
• Keep your complete face inside the area shown by the application.
• Avoid a cap, mask, glasses or spectacles.
• Make sure the captured image is clear and properly framed.

SSC also instructs candidates not to capture a photograph of an existing photograph. If the captured image does not meet the displayed instructions, take the photograph again before continuing.

Common SSC MTS Signature Problems

  Signature Is Above the Allowed File Size

  Reduce the file size while keeping the handwriting clear. The current detailed MTS requirement specifies a 10–20 KB range.

  A smaller file is not always better. If the application specifies a minimum file size, make sure the final image stays within that range.

  Signature Looks Blurry

  Start with a clear scan or photograph. Resizing cannot restore details that are missing from the original.

  Too Much White Space Around the Signature

  Crop unnecessary margins before setting the final dimensions. Excessive blank space can make the actual signature appear too small.
