For the SSC GD 2026 application, the photograph is captured live through the application module, while the signature is uploaded separately. The signature should be a JPEG/JPG file of 10–20 KB and about 6.0 × 2.0 cm at 300 DPI. Use this tool to crop, resize, adjust the file size, preview the result, and download your signature before uploading it.

SSC GD Constable Recruitment

SSC GD Constable recruitment covers General Duty posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau. The recruitment is associated with forces and organizations such as BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, SSF and NCB.

The participating organizations and vacancies can vary between recruitment cycles, so check the current SSC GD notification for the latest details. CRPF also recruits directly for trades posts, and those files can be prepared with the CRPF Tradesman Photo & Signature Resizer, while the SSC Selection Post Photo & Signature Resizer covers the state and department-wise Selection Post recruitment.

SignatureResizer is an independent image-preparation tool and is not affiliated with SSC, any police organization, or any paramilitary force.

SSC GD Photo & Signature Requirements

The photograph and signature are handled separately during the application process.

DocumentCurrent requirement
PhotographCaptured live through the application module
Signature formatJPEG/JPG
Signature file size10–20 KB
Signature dimensionsAbout 6.0 × 2.0 cm at 300 DPI
Signature alignmentHorizontally aligned
Signature qualityClear; blurred or miniature signatures may be rejected

The current SSC GD instructions require the photograph to be captured through the application module rather than uploaded as an existing photograph. The scanned signature is uploaded separately and must follow the stated format, size and dimension requirements.

Always check the latest SSC notification and application instructions before submitting your form.

SSC GD Live Photo: What You Need to Know

The current SSC GD application does not require you to prepare a pre-existing photograph for upload. The application module captures your photograph while you complete the form.

When the live-photo step appears:

  • Find a place with good lighting and a plain background.
  • Keep the camera at eye level.
  • Position yourself directly in front of the camera.
  • Look straight ahead.
  • Keep your entire face inside the area shown by the application.
  • Do not wear a cap, mask or glasses/spectacles.
  • Make sure the captured photograph is clear and properly framed.

If the captured photograph does not meet the displayed instructions, recapture it before continuing. SSC also states that candidates should not photograph an existing photograph for use in the application.

Prepare Your SSC GD Signature

Unlike the live photograph, your signature needs to be prepared as a separate image before uploading it.

For a cleaner result:

  • Sign clearly on plain paper.
  • Keep the complete signature visible.
  • Crop unnecessary blank space around the handwriting.
  • Avoid shadows and blurry edges.
  • Keep the signature horizontally aligned.
  • Make sure the handwriting remains clear after resizing.

Upload your signature to the tool, crop it if necessary, adjust the dimensions and file size, then preview and download the final JPEG/JPG. For the signature specifications used across other SSC exams, see the SSC Signature Resizer.

Why the SSC GD Signature Size Matters

File size and image dimensions are separate requirements. A signature can be within the allowed KB range while still having incorrect dimensions.

The signature should also remain clear and readable. SSC states that applications with blurred or miniature signatures may be rejected under the stated instructions.

Avoid reducing the file so aggressively that the handwriting becomes difficult to read. After exporting, you can re-check the KB value and dimensions with the Signature Size Checker.

Common SSC GD Signature Upload Problems

Signature Is Above 20 KB

Reduce the file size while keeping the handwriting clear. The current requirement specifies a 10–20 KB range.

Signature Is Below 10 KB

If the final file falls below the specified range, adjust the file settings again instead of using the smallest possible file.

Signature Looks Blurry

Start with a clear original scan or photograph. Compression cannot restore details that are already missing from the source.

Signature Dimensions Are Wrong

Changing only the KB size will not correct the dimensions. Enter the required width and height using the custom size controls.

Too Much White Space Around the Signature

Crop unnecessary margins while keeping the entire signature visible. Excessive blank space can make the actual handwriting appear too small.

Live Photo Is Not Accepted

Retake the photograph using good lighting, a plain background, an eye-level camera and a direct frontal view. Make sure your face fits correctly inside the area shown by the application.

SSC GD Application Checklist

Before submitting your SSC GD application:

  • Follow the live-photo instructions shown in the application.
  • Make sure your complete signature is clearly visible.
  • Save the signature in JPEG/JPG format.
  • Check the final file size and dimensions.
  • Make sure the signature is horizontally aligned.
  • Preview the prepared signature before uploading it.
  • Compare the final requirements with the latest SSC instructions.

SSC GD Image Preparation: What This Tool Can Do

Use the tool when you need to:

  • Resize your SSC GD signature.
  • Adjust custom image dimensions.
  • Bring the signature into the required KB range.
  • Crop unnecessary blank space.
  • Preview the final image.
  • Download the prepared JPEG/JPG signature.

The tool is intended for the separately uploaded signature. If the current SSC application asks you to capture a live photograph, use the application's live-photo process instead of preparing an old photograph for upload.
